I love horror. Not only do I watch, but I make horror films.
Shudder has some great originals, and other content that can usually be found on the cheaper service too.
That said, their billing, customer service, and Android dev team aren't just lacking, they've been sucked into the void and replaced with real life evil.
I've been charged and locked out, charged double, charged and never given access, and now charged and kicked out halfway through my billing because I stopped auto pay.
Not to mention the android app is nearly unusable. Not chromecast compatible as advertised. Constant lag and freeze. I could imagine nly watch their live events on my phone or fire stick.
But I'm a huge horror and Joe Bob fan, so I keep coming back for abuse and to miss what little extra cash I have away.
Because right now I paid for a service that still should have 2 weeks left on, but alas
Tltr: Shudder likes to take money and not provide the service they were paid for.
Update: They admit they screwed up. Told me to subscribe for another month and they'd add the missing weeks. Unfortunately, I already feel like I'm getting scammed.
Good luck Joe Bob Briggs, but I can't keep giving charity to this company. Removing all Shudder originals from my blueray wish lists and officially boycotting.

Scammers who charge a whole years subscription for a crappy streaming service that has mostly foreign subtitled films. Offered a free 7 day trial and it was so bad I cancelled within an hour. Over a week later was billed for the whole year and refused a refund.

Not worth the money. For what you get on the UK shudder compared to the U.S its ridiculous ... this is a horror fans worst let down.. finally a streaming site dedicated to horror and theres f. All on there.

All Damming reviews on here of Shudder have one big warning sign in common that people should be aware of and take note, NOT ONE REVIEW good or bad has a response from shudder, that should tell you something. Avoid these scammers my advice Is, if offered an extension on the free trial DO NOT TAKE IT.

These subscriptions are too easy to fall into. I was totally unaware I had signed up to this service. It is too easy for amazon to take money from your bank account as they already have your details. More regulation is needed to prevent them helping themselves to your funds.

Got shudder free trial to watch one show on their streaming platform. Cancelled my account SEVEN TIMES with days to go before the trial ended and was still charged for not one, not two but three months even when I set up my subscription to be paid by the month. Very shady streaming service..

I also joined the free trial and then read all the bad experiences here. I would recommend that if you have trouble cancelling then contact Shudder through their website, twitter, and facebook. Dont just rely on their website.

Shudder is fantastic, took them up on 33% annual offer and binged several films on Xbox
Only three gripes: i cannot link my account to Amazon Video
I need a Kindle Fire app or the option to stream programs on the Shudder website.
I like to watch on my tablet in bed and the phone is too small to enjoy a horror

Do not try out the free trial if you are unsure whether you want to sign up. I agree with many of the reviews here, they are an awful company to deal with. I have been trying to get a refund on an annual subscription for the last week. Finally received a response Friday but only an automated one so I have repeatedly emailed since and I have just received an email saying my enquiry ticket has now been closed, no mention of refund. I am now trying the Facebook route. Save yourselves a lot of hassle! I will now find out who I can make an official complaint to as they should not be allowed to run a company like this.

They have awful movies.

I tried a free week trial and cancelled immediately as I didn’t like the selection of movies. Mostly Shudder-made TV Shows and movies. When I cancelled, I had to dodge a bunch of “Are you sure” and “If you don’t cancel we’ll discount your subscription” until I was finally able to cancel it. A week later I see in my bank account that they had charged me $62 for an annual subscription (which is actually more than it states it costs). I contacted support and they wouldn’t respond to me until I CC’d my lawyer in the email. When they finally responded, they tried to offer me ANOTHER DISCOUNT on a subscription. I still haven’t received a refund. This service is a scam.

To be honest, it’s my own fault, but I signed up for a month’s free trial, then realised they have about 9 films and loads of documentaries- and that’s it. Set an alarm to remind me to cancel subscription, but was too busy at work, so was charged for a YEAR, rather than a month. As I said, it’s my fault, but Christ their selection of films is very VERY limited
